A Look Back: Fleming & John play Chicago

In October 1999 -- on the 14th, per Ben Folds Five's online tour diary; on the 15th, according to the potentially faulty date stamp on my photographs -- my sister Lindsay (group photo, middle), our bassist Dave (group photo, right) and I (group photo, left) drove from Holland, Mich. to Chicago, Ill. to see one of my favorite bands, Fleming & John (group photo, pink shirts).  F&J opened for Ben Folds Five, along with Train, at the Riviera Theatre.  All these years later, and their lack of output remains a mystery.  For instance, I contributed to a Kickstarter project for their 2015 record, which still has yet to be released...
