International Festival of Holland

Yesterday, I attended the inaugural International Festival of Holland, featuring performances by Armenian harpist Ara Topouzian, Ugandan multi-instrumentalist Samuel Nalangira (above), Japanese drumming ensemble Raion Taiko, Arab Maqam outfit Surabhi Ensemble, world percussion group Stone Sound Collective, and Cuban jazz band Tumbao Bravo.

A Dozen Times with Over the Rhine

Last night, I saw one of my all-time favorite musical acts, Over the Rhine, in concert for the twelfth time; this time, for the first time at Bell's Eccentric Cafe.
